Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the RankThat platform (operated by RankThatSEO.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users, visitors, and others who access the platform.

2. Description of Service

RankThat is an AI-powered SEO content platform designed for WordPress site owners. The platform provides keyword research, competitor analysis, AI content generation, content planning, WordPress publishing, rank tracking, AI visibility tracking, and related SEO tools. Features may vary by subscription plan.

3. User Accounts & Registration

To use RankThat, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

  • You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account.
  • You may not create multiple accounts for the purpose of abusing free trials or promotions.
  • You are responsible for ensuring your contact information remains current.

4. Subscription & Billing

RankThat offers subscription-based plans billed on a monthly or annual basis. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

  • Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Price changes will be communicated at least 30 days in advance.
  • Failed payments may result in temporary suspension of your account until resolved.

5. Free Trial

New users may be eligible for a 14-day free trial on paid plans. Stripe collects payment information at the time of trial signup. If you do not cancel before the trial period ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged at the applicable plan rate. You may cancel at any time during the trial without being charged.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use RankThat for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms. Specifically, you may not:

  • Generate spam content or use the platform for mass automated content distribution.
  • Abuse API rate limits or attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the platform.
  • Generate content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or violates third-party rights.
  • Share your account credentials or allow unauthorized parties to access your account.
  • Use the platform to distribute malware or engage in phishing activities.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits or feature restrictions of your plan.

7. Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content generated through the RankThat platform. This includes articles, outlines, briefs, images (subject to DALL-E usage terms), and any other output produced using our AI tools. RankThat does not claim any intellectual property rights over your generated content.

You grant RankThat a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

RankThat uses artificial intelligence models to assist in content generation. While we strive for accuracy and quality, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or outdated information. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and fact-checking all AI-generated content before publishing or distributing it.

  • AI outputs should not be considered professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
  • RankThat is not liable for any consequences arising from the use of AI-generated content.
  • You are responsible for ensuring generated content complies with applicable laws and regulations.

9. WordPress Integration

RankThat connects to your WordPress site via the WordPress REST API using application passwords. By providing your WordPress credentials, you grant RankThat permission to create, edit, and publish posts, upload media, and manage SEO metadata on your behalf.

  • Your WordPress application passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and stored securely.
  • We never store your WordPress user login password.
  • You may revoke access at any time by removing the application password from your WordPress site.
  • RankThat is not responsible for changes made to your WordPress site through the platform at your direction.

10. Data & Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for information on how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using RankThat, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Service Availability

RankThat strives to maintain high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice when possible. We are not liable for any downtime, data loss, or service interruptions caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to server failures, network issues, or third-party service outages.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RankThat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to RankThat in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the platform or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. You may request export of your data prior to account closure.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the platform with at least 30 days' notice. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
